The first episode of “Heroes of the Stars” aired on the evening of April 8 on HTV7. Contestants must go through three rounds: the Qualifiers, Semifinals, and Finals.
In the Qualifiers, the judges determine who advances by awarding “stars”:
-
Contestants receiving three blue stars move directly to the semifinals.
-
Those with two blue stars enter the waiting room.
-
Contestants with two or more red stars are temporarily eliminated.
However, eliminated contestants still have a chance to return if their performances receive strong audience votes through the show’s media channels.
Sitting on the judging panel of Heroes of the Stars were Vương Khang – the viral stage director known as the “trending wizard” behind Rap Việt and Who Is Single, Trịnh Tú Trung, and Lại Thanh Hương, a model and catwalk coach.
Mỹ Tiên, from Ho Chi Minh City, appeared with numerous piercings and performed the song “Môi Tím.” However, due to nerves, she forgot the lyrics right from the first line, prompting the judges to stop her performance and raise three red stars.
Judge Lại Thanh Hương commented, “You sing like karaoke.”
Unconvinced, Mỹ Tiên fiercely argued with the judges, but the result remained unchanged — she now has to wait and hope for a second chance through audience votes.
Opening the qualifying night was a truly special talent — little Chí Bảo, a 6-year-old boy from Vũng Tàu.
The moment he stepped onto the stage, Chí Bảo made the entire audience “go wild” with his playful charm, bright stage presence, and exceptionally stylish fashion sense.
Performing a remixed version of “Vũ Điệu Virus Corona”, his crystal-clear voice, energetic dance moves, and vibrant music completely won over the judges.
Not only could he sing and dance, but Chí Bảo also surprised the crowd with his comedic acting in a duo skit alongside his father.
Judge Trịnh Tú Trung confidently stated that “Chí Bảo will be a star in the future.”
However, the “national mother-in-law” gently reminded the parents:
“He’s still too young. Don’t let the spotlight affect him too much. The comedy sketch isn’t really suitable for his age because the dialogue involves a lot of witty banter.”

Next came a truly one-of-a-kind performance by martial arts master Bùi Mạnh Tưởng from Hà Nội.
Even before the “main course” began, the master made a striking impression on the judges during his “appetizer” — thanks to his remarkably fit physique, which left model Lại Thanh Hương wide-eyed in surprise.
The act reached its climax when 70 kilograms of iron adhered tightly to his chest through qigong energy control. The judges were completely convinced, and the performance earned three blue stars — a well-deserved recognition for such an extraordinary feat from a truly one-of-a-kind martial artist.
Bùi Mạnh Tưởng shared:
“When I was born, I weighed just over one kilogram and was very weak, so my parents enrolled me in martial arts at the age of five.”
Since then, he has practiced martial arts for 30 years and qigong for 15 years.
During a meditation retreat in the mountains, he once noticed a leaf sticking to his body without falling. When he opened his eyes, the leaf finally dropped to the ground.
That mysterious moment inspired him to explore object attraction techniques — starting with small items like spoons and forks — and over time, he trained his body to magnetize objects weighing up to 100 kilograms.

The next contestant, Nguyễn Minh Lộc (21 years old, from Quảng Trị), performed the song “Ý Em Sao” by Lăng LD and Kay Trần.
In addition to singing, he showcased his talent for imitating famous singers such as Khánh Phương and Tuấn Hưng.
However, despite his efforts, the performance failed to impress the judges and received three red stars.

The young contestant Nguyễn Hoàng Yến Trang (9 years old, from Long An) completely won over the judges with an exceptionally beautiful painting drawn with both hands.
In addition to her ambidextrous drawing and writing skills, Yến Trang also amazed everyone with her lightning-fast mental math ability, leaving the judges both surprised and delighted.
As a result, Yến Trang earned a perfect score of three blue stars.

Closing Episode 1 was the performance “Blowing Music from Money” by contestant Huynh Van Sau from Binh Phuoc. With his powerful breath control and extraordinary musical talent, the “silver-haired” performer astonished the audience by turning a banknote into a musical instrument and playing captivating melodies with it.
A passionate inventor, Huynh Van Sau admitted that he has often argued with his wife for being “too noisy” while experimenting. What’s even more remarkable is that he cannot read or write, yet he continues to pursue his craft with unwavering determination.
After hearing his story, everyone felt deep admiration for his resilience and rare talent. His act was expected to earn three full blue stars from the judges, but in the final moments, Lai Thanh Huong unexpectedly changed her vote, saying the contestant was “too one-dimensional.”
